  Learn IT

Knowing how to use a computer, communicate by email and use the internet are all vital skills in today’s world.  Information Technology (IT) can be daunting for people who have never used a computer before and many think they will never be able to become confident and skilled.

Luton Foyer offers one to one support through a range of UK Online short courses.  These are free, short, easy to use courses that help everyone to “get online”. Some start right at the beginning and show users how to turn on the computer and use the mouse and others show users how to job search online, apply for jobs, bank online and even research family history.

We can help you to
  • Use the computer confidently
  • Set up an email account, send and receive messages and attach documents
  • Search job websites for vacancies that match your skills
  • Apply for jobs online
  • Search the internet for information
  • Use the internet to access Government services
  • Shop and bank online
Everything is done at your pace and in a supportive environment with a trained advisor.

A client who learnt to use computers at Luton Foyer wrote "I remember that I found it a bit difficult at the beginning and made a lot of mistakes but they were so patient with me and now I can get into my PC without much help.  I can log in on my own and I can send emails and look up things that interest me.  Yes, the staff are all considerate and kind and I would recommend this place to anyone.  I feel a sense of achievement in so little time."

The service is offered on a pre-booked appointments basis so telephone Luton Foyer on 01582 401366 or call in at the centre to book an appointment with a IT Skills Advisor.
