Services
Luton Foyer offers a range of free services from “under one roof” to allow clients to deal with a range of different issues without having to access other providers. They are all available to everyone and clients choose which services they want to use and for how long. As we are a charity, we are completely independent so all the advice and information we provide is impartial and confidential.
Housing
The Independent Housing Advice Service offers information and advice about any issues related to accommodation. This includes looking for housing in the privately rented sector, facing eviction, problems with neighbours, applying for housing benefit, understanding your options or needing help to set up your tenancy.
Employment and Training
Luton Foyer is a Next Step provider which means it offers professional advice and support in getting a job or accessing training and learning to the unemployed and those facing redundancy, wanting to get a new job or promotion or interested in developing their skills. Activities include creating CVs, job searching and applying online and applications to learning providers.
Money Advice
The money advice service can help to manage a wide range of money problems. This may include debts and arrears, action by bailiffs, negotiating repayment plans, benefits entitlements and claims, opening a bank account, budgeting skills and switching to cheaper suppliers.
Immigration Advice
Luton Foyer is authorised by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner to deliver Level 1 advice. This includes applications for leave to enter and to remain and applications for registration or naturalisation as a British citizen.
Learn IT
Introductory courses are offered on how to use a computer, job search online, surf the internet, create an email account and access Government services online. Individual support is given to help master the basic computer skills that are needed to find employment, make use of the internet, shop online and much more.
Kaleidoscope Counselling
The Kaleidoscope Counselling Service is provided to address problems, cope with crises, work through conflict and improve relationships. Confidential support is offered to tackle bereavement, low self esteem, addictive behaviour or help in dealing with life’s constant challenges and difficulties.
Open Office
Luton Foyer offers a range of office facilities on a drop in basis. These include the IT suite of PCs, printing, photocopying, postage and stationery, newspapers, fax, telephones and a mailing address for those with no permanent address.
